The twist is that the developers, Bay 12 Games, have never stopped adding to it since it came out more than 4 years ago and even today they show no sign of stopping. If channeled from above the channeled tile fills with 7/7 deep water. These seem to not be connected to a cavern nor an underground sea/river nor to eachother, resulting in several layers of undiggable damp stones varying in size up to 40x40tiles.
